Why I didn’t campaign for Buhari—Solomon Akiyesi

By Benjamin Njoku

Popular Nollywood actor, Solomon Akiyesi can’t stop being controversial. The actor who is known for controversies last weekend shared pictures of what seems to be a traditional marriage which he said was held in Akwa Ibom online.

It would be that on Saturday, April 13, 2013, Nigerians were shocked when the supposed wedding of Solomon, to Ms Uloma Agwu, turned into a major scandal in Lagos.

He wrote, “Finally, Uyo the Akwa Ibom state capital stood still for the newest couple in town.”

As if that is not enough, the actor went as far as revealing why he did not openly campaign for President Mohammed Buhari.

“During the last election in Nigeria, I could not openly campaign for Buhari because though I knew we needed change, my colleagues who, by the way were all pushing for Jonathan to be re-elected would have chewed me raw! And based on that much touted change mantra, I voted for the first time in my life for Buhari who obviously was the epitome and harbinger of that change.

“But being locked down here in Abuja and not being able to go out on account of very scarce petrol and not being able to even do small jobs at home electronically on account of no power has got me thinking if I made a mistake voting in the first place.
