Super Eagles ranked 42nd in latest FIFA ranking, 3rd best in Africa


Super Eagles move four places up in latest FIFA ranking released, The three-time African champions moved from 46th position to 42nd,

Nigeria are now third African best team behind Senegal and Tunisia Super Eagles have moved up four places in the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Genort Rohr’s men moved from 46th position to 42nd, following their impressive wins against Seychelles and Egypt during the international break.

Senegal are still the highest ranked African nation after moving one step up from 24th to 23rd while Tunisia remain in the 28th position.

Nigeria are the third highest ranked African country while Morocco and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) complete the top five after being ranked 44th and 45th respectively on FIFA’s list.

The top three highest ranked nation in the world remain unchanged as Belgium, world Champions France and Brazil occupy the first, second and third position respectively.

England overtook Croatia in fourth place as the World Cup finalists dropped one place to move into fifth position. Uruguay, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark complete the top ten teams in the world but Lionel Messi’s Argentina are unmovable in the 11th position.
