Steps We are Taking To Avoid Embarrassment When Actor Falls Seriously Sick – Mr latin

As ace comic actor, Babatunde Omidina (Baba Suwe) is planning to embark on medical trip abroad, the national president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr Latin says the association is working on placing members on health insurance to avoid embarrassment when an actor is seriously ill.

Speaking to NAN on Friday, Mr Latin says plans are also ongoing to ensure that the quality of movies produced improve.

According to him, a seven-member committee has been set up to proffer solutions to most of the problems encountered in the industry, while the association would ensure their recommendations are implemented.

He listed the committee members as Antar Laniyan, Peju Ogunmola, Adebayo Tijani, Muyiwa Ademola, Razak Ojopagogo and Femi Adebayo, with Odunlade Adekola, as chairman.

“Presently, we are concerned with improving the quality of our movies in terms of content, role interpretations, subtitling of films, picture productions and a whole lot of other issues,” he states.

“Very soon, this committee will come up with its suggestions and recommendations, while we are to work on them.

“We intentionally ensured that the committee members are veteran artistes who have had enough experience on the job,” he says.

Amusan, who became the association’s president in December 2018 says part of his projections was to ensure artistes get a comprehensive health insurance scheme and improve upon their welfare.

“Efforts are in top gear to ensure our members are placed on the health insurance scheme, to save us of the embarrassment each time a member is seriously sick.”

Baba Suwe was in the news recently seeking funds to treat an undisclosed ailment. He is set to travel abroad for treatment as the money required is now complete.
