Saraki’s Meeting With APC Leaders Canceled Abruptly

Nigeria – A meeting between Senate President Bukola Saraki and APC bigwigs has been canceled abruptly, THE CABLE reports.

Saraki was scheduled to meet with John Oyegun, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress‎ (APC), and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) at 12:45 pm on Thursday.

Bamikole Omishore, Saraki’s media aide, sent out a message at 12:25, which says “his Excellency, Distinguished Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, will be at APC party secretariat at 12:45 to meet chairman and NWC. Press, please take note.”

However, he sent another message a few minutes later saying the meeting has been canceled and didn’t state any reason for the cancellation of the meeting.

‎Saraki became senate president unchallenged after outsmarting his opponent and APC’s official candidate for the position, Ahmed Lawan (Yobe north), and his supporters missed the inauguration of the eighth senate on Tuesday.
