Rooney has now explained that even the world best players will struggle under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford. “I think if you take Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and tell them you have to play here, you have to do this, you have to that, they aren’t going to be the same players,” Rooney told ESPN.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who replaced Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford has been impressive since he came on board winning all his first six games.

Earlier, The Premier League giants Manchester United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjær as their new manager until the end of the ongoing 2018/19 Premier League season.

The 45-year-old Norwegian football manager replaces former manager Jose Mourinho who was thrown out of the club because of poor results. He has been joined by Mike Phelan as first-team coach, together with Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna this season at Old Trafford.
