The Presidency has announced that President Muhammadu Buhari will make a nationwide broadcast to Nigerians today by 7p.m.
Garba Shehu, a Special Adviser to the President, made this known via a tweet in which he advised all media houses to stay tuned for the broadcast.
He tweeted: “President @MBuhari will broadcast to the nation Monday, April 13, 2020, at 7 pm. Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast”.
14 days ago, Buhari declared a lockdown order in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun to curb the spread of coronavirus. With the period expiring today, it is expected that the broadcast for tonight will address a likelihood of an extension.
