Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC have succeeded in warming their way into President Muhammadu Buhari’s heart.

THE power game between the political structures in the All Progressives Congress (APC) appears to have tilted in favour of the state governors, following the changing disposition of President Muhammadu Buhari towards the state helmsmen.

Knowledgeable insiders in the APC told Sunday Tribune that the governors appeared to have won the heart of President Buhari lately and that the president had conceded to them the right to compile the list of prospective ministers and other appointees.

President Buhari had initially rebuffed attempts by the governors to make inputs into his cabinet, as he told them at a meeting at the Defence House that it was not their business to name ministers for him since he would not also suggest commissioners for them.

But recent rapport between the Presidency and the governors is changing that fast, said an APC insider last week.
