The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has called for the unconditional release of the Kogi State High Court Judge; Justice Samuel Obayomi who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Monday in Okene Local Government Area of the State.
National Publicity Secretary of JUSUN, Comrade Kayode Agbarago who spoke with reporters said the union view the abduction of his lordship as unfortunate, considering the fact that Justice Obayomi who suffered a ghastly motor accident is just resuming work when the ugly incident occurred.
Comrade Kayode warned that if something urgent is not done to decisively deal with the situation, other judges handling high profile cases may be intimidated to hand off such matter.
Agbarago however urged security agencies to live up to expectation by ensuring that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book so as to serve as deterrent to others.
While emphasising on the need to totally overhaul the security apparatus in the country, the JUSUN PRO urged Federal Government and the Kogi State government to fish out those holding the judge.
It would be recalled that gunmen on Monday kidnapped a Kogi High Court Judge, Mr Justice Samuel Obayomi, and killed his orderly, Cpl. Usman Musa in an early morning.
Obayomi of the Ebogogo High Court in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi was kidnapped while on his way to work.
