Group to Sue EFCC over Inability to Probe Mu’Azu’S Alleged N19.8b Scam

A Bauchi based pressure group, National Democratic Congress for Transparency (NDCT), has threatened to sue the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over its inability to arrest and investigate the immediate past National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu over the allegations of diverting 19.8bn when he was the governor of Bauchi State.
The Chairman of NDCT, Bibi Dogo stated on Thursday while addressing a press conference in Bauchi, saying that “now we are heading to court, to challenge the EFCC over their inability to perform their constitutional duty, so that the chairman of EFCC will come and explain why they refused to arrest Mu’azu after his invitation and refusal to honour them while many past governor were invited and questioned by the agency, why Mu’azu was exceptional.”
Dogo said they had written a reminder to the Federal Government, the Senate President, and the EFCC but they didn’t act on it, “this time around, we are heading to court in the interest of Justice and fairness to all Nigerians, since EFCC is not a court of law they, so they cannot clear Mu’azu in secret”
On the recent resignation of Mu’azu, Dogo, who was a one-time Chairman of Bauchi State PDP elders committee said “it’s a good development to the party, and now, we want the remaining National Working Committee executives and the state executives, to resign so that new hands can take over and revive the party”
