Deputy Governor of Kaduna state, northwest Nigeria, Barnabas Bantex, lost his ward to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Bantex contested for Kaduna south senatorial seat on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Collation Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Yusuf Emmanuel on Sunday said the incumbent, Danjuma La’ah, got 2,301 votes to defeat Bantex who polled 2,113 votes.
However, Bantex defeated La’ah in his polling unit with 227 votes to 15.
Also, the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, beat his main challenger, President Muhammadu Buhari, in the ward.
According to the results announced by INEC, the former vice president polled 2,991 votes, while Buhari’s APC got 1,443.
Concise News also gathered that the PDP won the House of Representatives seat. The party recorded 2,056 votes to defeat APC, which got 1,641 votes.
