President Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a massive victory in his home state of Katsina to brighten his chances of emerging winner of Nigeria’s 2019 presidential election.
Buhari’s APC crushed Atiku Abubakar’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the race for Nigeria’s highest office by polling 1,232,133 votes.
Professor Fatima Mukhtar, the State Collation Officer for INEC, said Buhari defeated Atiku who got 308,056 votes.
The president was truly at home as he won in all the 34 local government areas of the northwest state with an intimidating margin.
The state has a total of 3.2 million registered voters, but only 1,628,865 voters were accredited during the election.
