Ekiti Assembly Inaugurated, Blasts APC

The newly-inaugurated House of Assembly, in Ekiti State, has called on the All Progressives Party (APC) to Mourn its loss of Power and stop being“unnecessarily petty.” Also, the Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, on Tuesday, inaugurated new caretaker chairmen in the 16 council areas with a call on them to replicate his ‘stomach infrastructure’ programme at the grassroots.   The House of Assembly was reacting to APC statement signed by its Publicity Secretay, TaiwoOlatunbosundescribing the Ekiti State 5th Assembly as a contraption by the governor, saying “Fayose just selected his cronies across the State and imposed them on the party.  Most of them are miscreants and school drop outs, who Fayose compensated as honourable members.”   At their maiden press conference, in Ado-Ekiti, the lawmakers, who lambasted the APC casting aspersion on them equally threatened that it may soon roll out appropriate sanction against the spokesman of the APC who was the deputy speaker of the assembly between 2003 and 2007, during the first tenure of Fayose.   Specifically, the lawmakers described the statement issued by Olatubosun as disappointing and embarrassing, considering the fact that the APC spokesman was a former member of the assembly and ought not to have attacked its members.   They lawmakers said the present 5th assembly was composed of professionals who had made their marks before venturing into active Politics. The press conference was jointly addressed by an ad hoc committee on information made up of Hon. GboyegaAribisogan, Hon. Shona Animashaun, and Hon.   Samuel Omotosho, who also said that they had no apology to make to the APC for their loyalty to the governor through whom they said they got to their present position based on his “uncommon leadership Style.”     The law makers said the APC should say whether its assembly members, who nearly threw the State into confusion, were, indeed, educated and men of legislative acumen.
