ECOWAS Summit: Osinbajo Departs Abuja For Niger

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has departed Abuja for the Niger Republic, to attend an Extra-Ordinary Summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

We understands that the ECOWAS meeting is to discuss the political crisis in Guinea Bissau.

Osinbajo is to represent President Muhammadu Buhari, who is away in the UK on a private visit. However, Osinbajo is expected back to Abuja later today.

We earlier reported that Laolu Akande, the Senor Special Assistant-Media and Publicity to Osinbajo debunked the list circulating in the media that some presidential aides have been sacked.

In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, Akande asked the populace to ignore the ‘bogus’ information.

“The needless scuffle btw a villa accredited photographer, Mr. Adeshida & one of our security aides earlier today has since been resolved. Incident is regretted & I have apologized to him for any embarrassment caused. Also, a list circulating in the media on d so-called sacked … “…presidential aides is not genuine and ought to be ignored,” he tweeted Thursday.
