Mallam Aminu Usman, popularly called “Abu Ammar”, has been reportedly invited and detained allegedly by men of State Security Service in Katsina, home state of President Muhammadu Buhari.
We learned that Abu Ammar was arrest on Tuesday, with reports suggesting it could be due to a pre-“hudba” sermon he made where he berated the President Buhari administration over the recent security challenges in the country.
According to Daily Trust, Abu Ammar was with his friend, Malam Shamsu, when he received a call inviting him by security men who asked him to come down to the Department of State Security (DSS) office in the state.
“He obliged and they went together; after a while, they (DSS) asked Shamsu to leave just at about breaking of fast yesterday,” the national daily quotes the source as saying.
But spokesman for the police in the state, SP Gambo Isah, said he was hearing the development for the first time.
