David De Gea angered Louis Van Gaal and a lot of Manchester United fans during the summer as he tried to force a move away from Manchester United to Real Madrid. De Gea turned down contract offers from Manchester United and threatened to see out his current deal and leave for free. In the end, De Gea did not move to Real Madrid as a deal could not be struck but Van Gaal is yet to even feature De Gea on the bench this season, playing new signing Romero instead. Following the match against Macedonia however De Gea revealed that he would be willing to play for Manchester United.
“I felt so good,” De Gea told reporters after the win in Macedonia. “I hope that I now have some good fortune also with my club. The support I received have been so important. I have awesome team-mates.” De Gea had an easy game against Macedonia but looked good whenever he was called upon.
Del Bosque has already made it clear that he would only be taking players who feature regularly for their clubs to next year’s Euro championships so De Gea might just be looking to get into the Spain squad.
