The images taken by the EROS B satellite reaffirm suspicions by Western intelligence agencies that Russia has deployed its advanced 9K720 Iskander missile system in Syria.
An Israeli spy satellite has revealed sophisticated Russian ground-to-ground missiles on Syrian soil.
The high-resolution images, taken by the EROS B satellite manufactured by the Israel Aircraft Industries, reaffirm what Western intelligence agencies have long suspected – that Russia has deployed its most advanced ballistic missile system, the 9K720 Iskander, in Syria.
The system has so far been well-hidden, but floods and heavy rainfall have forced the Russians to relocate the trucks carrying the missiles, which enabled the Israeli satellite to spot them.
According to media reports from Germany and Russia, the system was deployed in December 2013.
