The APC said Atiku’s days are numbered and insisted that he will have his days in court The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the recent trip by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to the USA, as a desperate move to deceive Nigerians.

In a phone interview with Daily Trust, the APC’s national publicity secretary, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said that the latest report showed that Atiku was just granted a temporary waiver to enter the US.

Issa-Onilu said the APC knew that the US would never compromise its principles of democracy, rule of law and social justice.

He said: “It just shows that we never had any doubt that Atiku is a wanted person in America. So, the visit, we knew all along that it was part of desperation to pull the wool over the eyes of Nigerians. So, we were not bothered. “And we know that America is not about to compromise its objective principles of democracy, rule of law, and social justice. Atiku’s days are numbered. He will have his days in court whether in America, Europe or Nigeria.”

Atiku entered the United States on Thursday, January 17, his first in 12 years, on a trip billed for meetings with Nigerian business elite in Washington DC, and a stop at the US Chamber of Commerce for an off-record briefing on Nigeria’s economic matters.
